Review: Where the Rain Is Made by Keta Diablo

Where the Rain is Made is not your average paranormal it is a unique and romantic adventure that spans time itself. Ethan Gray is a curator at a national museum but there is so much more to Ethan that meets the eye. He is Meko the leader of the mighty Cheyenne and a powerful time traveler. Meko journeys back and forth through time to help his people - but he never imagined that along the way he would fall in love with a dark haired beauty from the past.

When Francesca Duvall doesn’t like the West she misses the life that she had back East before she lost her mother. Now she and her young brother and father are struggling to make a living in a mining camp near Denver Colorado. But things go from bad to worse for Cesca when Cheyenne Dog Soldiers raid the camp and take she and her young brother Marsh prisoner. Cesca hates the murdering savages who are her captors but when her brother is singled out and sought after by an especially savage member of the tribe - Cesa will stop at nothing to save him - even becoming the wife of Meko to keep Marsh safe from the other warrior. She never expected that she would find herself fighting her growing feelings for the strong and enigmatic warrior, could she really be falling in love with her enemy?

From the moment Meko set eyes on the fiery white woman something deep inside him stirred to life. When she becomes his wife he finds himself caring for this vivacious and courageous woman more than he ever believed he was capable of could this enchanting and fiery spirited woman be his future? And can they both survive the coming storm that threatens his people and all of their lives long enough to find out?

I really enjoyed Where the Rain is Made. Ms. Diablo is a wonder at pulling you into the pages of her books into the lives of her characters and you can’t help but fall in love with them and the world she has created. I am a huge lover of the paranormal genre as well as historicals and this one is a wonderful combination of the two. Although it is a time travel novel the time traveling is very well written and not corny or unbelievable at all. It is an exciting and deep tale about two very different people who are literally worlds and decades apart, as well as the fight of an entire people and culture to survive.

I love Native American history I have always found it fascinating and though I was already slightly familiar with the Cheyenne I really loved all the detail that Ms. Diablo put into this book about them. Not only did I get to enjoy a great story, but I learned some about this fascinating and strong people as well. A great and different (in a very good way) read that I think anyone that loves a good romance would enjoy immensely!

Also Keta will be visiting here on the 20th to talk more about Where the Rain is Made and to give away a copy as well!  I hope everyone has a great weekend! :)

It sounds like a book I will enjoy. We'll be traveling, so I hope I have access to the internet for her visit.
